Kevin Robinson - Marked Man
Popular cultural, as well as, formal interest in the art of the tattoo has become increasingly prominent since the late 1990s and through the first decade of the 21st century. As both the popularity and prevalence of tattoos have grown, so too has Ridgefield, Connecticut based photographer Kevin Robinson’s own fascination with the unique ways in which people mark their bodies. His interest has resulted in hundreds of colorful portraits, twenty two of which comprise the Marked Man exhibition at the Gettysburg Majestic Gallery, developed and produced by Americas’ Arts. As an award-winning, internationally published New York City region photographer, Kevin Robinson has worked with prestigious clients that include Revlon, Remington, Elite Models, Random House and Doubleday Books. “For many, the hard lines between art, culture and modern tattooing have disappeared,” says Americas’ Arts owner Larry Knutson. According to a 2006 Pew survey, 40 percent of Americans between the ages of 26 and 40 have been tattooed.
